The United States offers a wide range of visa categories for individuals intending to visit, work, study, or immigrate to the country. Here's an overview of the main types of visas to the USA:

Visitor Visas (Non-Immigrant Visas):

B-1/B-2 Visitor Visa: For temporary visits for business (B-1) or tourism, medical treatment, or visiting family and friends (B-2). Usually issued for short durations.

Student and Exchange Visitor Visas:

F-1 Student Visa: For individuals pursuing academic studies at a U.S. accredited college or university.

J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa: For participants in approved exchange visitor programs, including students, scholars, professors, researchers, and au pairs.

Work Visas (Non-Immigrant Visas):

H-1B Visa: For specialty occupation workers in fields such as technology, engineering, science, and mathematics.

L-1 Visa: For intracompany transferees working for multinational companies, allowing managers, executives, and employees with specialized knowledge to work in the U.S.

Temporary Worker Visas:

H-2A Visa: For seasonal agricultural workers.

H-2B Visa: For non-agricultural temporary workers in industries facing seasonal demand.

O Visa: For individuals with extraordinary abilities or achievements in fields such as arts, sciences, education, athletics, or business.

Investor and Business Visas:

E-2 Treaty Investor Visa: For investors from countries with treaties of commerce and navigation with the U.S.

EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa: For foreign investors making significant investments in new commercial enterprises in the U.S.

Family-Based Immigrant Visas:

IR Visas: For immediate relatives of U.S. citizens, including spouses, unmarried children under 21, and parents.

Family Preference Visas: For more distant relatives of U.S. citizens and some relatives of lawful permanent residents, including unmarried sons and daughters over 21, married children of any age, and siblings of adult U.S. citizens.

Diversity Visa Lottery:

DV Lottery: An annual lottery program that randomly selects individuals from countries with low rates of immigration to the U.S., granting them the opportunity to apply for immigrant visas.

 

Special Immigrant Visas:

SI Visas: For special immigrant categories, including religious workers, certain employees of U.S. foreign service posts, Afghan and Iraqi nationals who worked for the U.S. government, etc.

 

Diplomatic and Official Visas:

A Visas: For diplomats, government officials, and employees of international organizations visiting the U.S. on official business.

G Visas: For representatives of international organizations, employees of such organizations, and their families.

Each visa category has specific eligibility criteria, application processes, and requirements. It's important to determine the most suitable visa type based on individual circumstances and intentions for visiting or residing in the United States.
